RITUALS FOR THE TUESDAY FAST.

The fast is observed for obtaining royal patronage, happiness or for getting a son. In this fast one should eat food made of wheat and jaggery only. It is advisable to have one meal on this day. The fast should be kept for 21 weeks. With the fasting of Tuesdays the affect of Mangal (Mars) gets destroyed. People generally wear red clothes at the time of worship and offer red flowers to the Deity. Finally God Hanuman is worshipped and the story of Mangalvar should be heard or read.
