Chapter V

Sri Sathya Sai BabaSmt. Sakamma owned a very large coffee plantation. She was also a very sathwik and divine lady, performing lots of charity like feeding the poor and offering them clothes etc. Recognizing her worth, the Mysore Maharaja had bestowed on her, the title of "Dharma Parayane."

One morning, at about nine, when she was performing her pooja, her servant came and informed her, that some people had come in a car and wanted to see her immediately. She came out and saw an old car, on which a board was put up – "Kailas committee." In front was seated a young boy of sixteen, with His hair all scattered. At the back, on a deer skin, an old man with a flowing beard and with the holy ashes smeared on his body and forehead was seated majestically.

She welcomed Him inside and worshipped Him very religiously, by washing His feet and offering Him flowers and fruits. The old man then asked her to become a member of "Kailas committee." By paying one thousand rupees. She paid gladly but the receipt and the money was given back to her. He told her that He would visit her again. A few years passed, but there was no sign of the " Kailas Committee."

One day, Sakamma had to go to Bangalore. When she visited one of her friend’s house, to her utter surprise, she saw the same young boy with the scattered hair. As she was looking at Him, the boy transformed Himself into the old man and again as the young boy. She was stunned. She went close to the boy and asked Him, Were you not the one who came to my place as the "Kailas Committee?"

The boy replied, " Many years ago, you had to pay Rs.1000/- which you did not pay. So I came to take it from you." Sakamma’s eyes were filled with tears. She prostrated to Sai Narayana and earned His Grace.

One afternoon, at about three, Baba was lying down on His bed and talking to His devotees. Suddenly He shouted, "Do not shoot, and do not shoot." He fell down and was unconscious. After about an hour, Swami got up and told the devotees to send a telegram stating – "Your revolver is with me. Do not worry."

Someone told Swami that the word ‘revolver’ cannot be used, as the word would raise objections from the postal authorities. Hence instead of the word ‘revolver’, the word instrument was used and the telegram was sent. All were wondering and asked Baba for this sudden happening. Swami told them that they would know, within a few days.

After four days, a letter arrived from Bhopal. It was written by an Army officer .Due to some circumstances, the officer was upset and decided to shoot himself with his own revolver.

He fired one shot in the air to test the revolver and was about to shoot himself. And that was the time, when Swami, from the other corner of India shouted, "Do not shoot, do not shoot."

At the same moment, there was a knock on the door. The officer kept the revolver under his bed and opened the door. He saw his old class mate, with his wife and servant. They had come to visit him. He invited them in. After speaking to the officer for a few minutes, they decided to visit his neighbor, who was also their friend.

Bolting the door, after they had left, the officer came back to his bed for his revolver. He could not find it. He was surprised. He sat down and was wondering, as to what could have happened to his revolver. He once again heard a knock on the door. He opened it and the postman gave him a telegram. It read, "Your instrument is with me. Do not worry." Sender’s name – ‘Baba’.

Our Sai Narayana, will not forsake nor let down whosoever worships Him. One has just to call out to Him and He will immediately run to their aid with His four arms of Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi and Prema. His mahima is beyond words. In the above incident, the officer’s wife was an ardent devotee of Swami.

The fourth chapter of Sri Sathya Sai, Sathya Narayana Katha ends with all auspiciousness. Bow to Sri Sai. Peace be to all.
